Was PNMP announced here in the US? I had expected some of the trade mags., would have had some details. Maybe I'm just reading the wrong trade rags... - Mike

The TNMP announcement at Telecom in Geneva on Oct. 7 covered the U.S. The problem was that there has been no formal event in the U.S. where it has been highlighted as applying to the U.S. marketplace. We had 2 shows going on that week. Telecom91 in Geneva highlighted TNMP. Interop91 in San Jose featured the DECmcc SNMP AM V1.1 and the latest version of MSU. The announcement criteria for things announced at Interop did not allow TNMP to be announced there and we haven't reached they next announcement milestone since then. So, the short answer is that TNMP applies to the U.S. and you can point to the Telecom91 announcement but there has been no event in the U.S. which would catch the attention of the trade press yet. wally | |||||

As Wally said in the previous reply, TNMP (Telecom Network Management Program)was announced at Telecom 91 in Geneva on October 7. This announcement was world-wide, but covers only the program part (TNMP). The product, currently code-named PNMP, is not yet announced and should be announced in the April timeframe, both in the US and in Europe. If you would like to have more information on PNMP and TNMP, please look into the PNMP notefile (TAEC::PNMP). Best regards, Marc. |
