I am installing a test environment for our new product that requires DECmcc V1.1 with SNMP AM V1.1. I first had to created a private DNS name server using DNS V1.1, and as part of SNMP AM requirement, I installed UCX V1.3 all on a VAXstation 3500 with lots of disk space. Things seemed to go just fine until I begun to install MCCTCPIP011 kit (well installing UCX was not all that smooth either) that I ran into some difficulty. I let the installation running for 20+ hours of elapsed time and it is still building the parse table ( according to the release note, it should take from 2-3 hours). What's wrong? Thanks -dave

check your pgflquota, wsquota and pagefile size. This seems to be a common problem (unfortunately). The requirenments are in a manual, somewhere... I strongly suggest using Rob Spence's AUDIT_MCC.COM procedure. (pointer is somewhere in this conference...) It can save you a lot of grief & it's simple. [ Thanks, Rob! ] I never leave home without it... ;^) /doug |
