| sys$sysroot: is defined as
sys$specific followed by sys$common
hence you get the error you see as sys$common is the last place looked
and the file not found

| I aggree with you, but normaly the first place to look at is
sys$specific and then sys$common, and as the file is in sys$specific,
so we should never look in sys$common.

| Hi,
Let's look at your logical setup for sys$sysroot, sys$common, sys$system
and sys$specific. Also, have you tried NCP using the equivalent MCC
command, did it work? Have you done: dir sys$system:netnode_local.dat
and found the file?

| I've seen a similar error from NCP - asking for permanent characteristics -when
I did not have the privilege to read the file - seems like it checks in
SYS$SYSROOT (SYS$SPECIFIC:), encounters the file protection error, checks in
SYS$COMMON and reports the file isn't found there.
