Jim,
Here are the comments I spoke with you about. First one
is: I don't think that when you enable priv's on a terminal
server it should not be ecohed to the screen. I find that
as a big problem if I have a customer/user standing over my
shoulder watching as I type the password on the screen. Second is,
the group code issue. I could not find a way to enable all the groups
code to a port. (I could not find it in the documentation anywhere) I
tried many different combinations to no success. Below are some
examples...
MCC>SET TERMINAL WAYNES PORT 1 INIT AUTH GROUP=(0-255),BY PASSWORD=XXXXXX
MCC>SET TERMINAL WAYNES PORT 1 INIT AUTH GROUP=(ALL),BY PASSWORD=XXXXXX

P.S. Also, When using TSAM all letters must be in capital form or it won't
work.

Thanks for the feedback. The project team needs to hear more of this
kind of thing.
As for your concerns :
- The case-sensitivity has been fixed.
- The group code issue is being worked on. You can enable all the
group codes now, one at a time. That's obviously no good.
- The server priv password ia a qualifier and will be visible in FCL
mode. That is consistent with other AMs, isn't it? Is there some
better way that we don't know about?
Of course for multiple commands with the same password, you could
issue the USE DEFAULT QUALIFIER BY PASSWORD=xxxxx and not have to
repeat the password in each subsequent command.
The password is not echoed in the DECwindows interface.

that is right the FCL will echo the password. We are currently
attempting to come up with a way to handle this so that the user
is prompted (without echo) to enter it, but at this time no solution
has been agreed upon. And, this is the same for all MM's
