1746.0. "Help on entity formats please!" by MCIS5::ENSLEY () Wed Oct 30 1991 14:15

    I'm trying to create an alarm rule for a change in the circuit_substate
    on a DECnet node using the Iconic map.

    Here's what happens:
    After you click on the the RULE, it opens a window Entity Class: Domain Rule
    And prompts to enter an ENTITY:________

      where I enter...node4_upoaa_circuit_substate, then click OK

    Then another window opens and prompts you again for ENTITY:___________

      where I enter...node4 upoaa circuit syn-1, click ok, move mouse
      to map window click MB1, and get the message:

        "Valid attribute expression was not found"

    What am I doing wrong?!

1746.3Questions for you...TOOK::ORENSTEINThu Oct 31 1991 09:5928

    I'm having trouble re-creating your situation. I just want to make
    sure I understand what you are saying:

    You go to VIEW RULE?

    You create a RULE toolbox?

    You click on the RULE in the toolbox?

    You get an Add-entity window which prompts you for RULE:__________ ?

    You type in: "node4_upoaa_circuit_substate" and click OK ?

    Now this is where I get confused:

    Do you get the SAME Add-entity box again?
    Or do you ge the Rule Creation box?

    If you get a Rule Creation box, where is this ENTITY:_________?
    I see it in 3 places - -one for each type of rule:
    	COMPARISON, CHANGE_OF and OCCURS.

    If I enter an ENTITY for any of these places and hit OK, I get a
    pop-up message to let me know that I didn't finish entering my fields.
