Problem seen via Iconic Map PM. Don't know if this has been fixed in V1.2. I first noticed this in EFT 1.1. I am currently running V1.1. When "looking into" an entity, such as a domain, the "Looking into" window which has the "cancel" button on it appears. The entity or domain into which you are looking then has its window appear underneath the "Looking into" window. If I click on the "cancel" button at this point, I can cause the IMPM windown to disappear. The original DECterm window/process from which I invoked the IMPM is still processing. I must hit Control-Y to abort. I have noticed this mainly on slower workstations, but just saw it again on my VAXstation 3100/76. Any ideas? -Dan

There was a small window in which the lookinto operation actually completed but the cancel button was still displayed. If the user pressed cancel at this point, the map window thread, when alerted by the cancel, confused the cancel lookinto with close the window. This caused the window to disappear but left the process running because the exit flag was not set. The Iconic Map thinks there still is at least one window displayed when there isn't. This is fixed in v1.2. /Jim |
