I am running the director 1.1 with the Tcpip/Snmp AM ver t1.1. I have also intalled the Chipcom mib thats comes with T1.1. I can see some of the attributes on the Chipcom Concentrator but not the majority. The text file of the Chipcom mib shows the capability of seeing alot more than I currently can see. So a few questions are: 1. How do you get the command "set mcc 0 tcpip_am snmp optimization=true" to work? I get a message of unknown attribute SNMP. This command is right out of the SNMP AM use book! 2. Has anyone been able to get the attribute Interface 1 ifAdminStatus to an "UP" state? Mine is always down and when I set it to UP it comes back DOWN with no errors. I need to know if the problem of not being able to see all the attributes that the Chipcom MIB says it can see is a SNMP/Director problem or a Chipcom box agent problem. Thanks for any help!

The TCPIP SNMP AM Project Leader tells me that the TCPIP_AM attribute "snmp optimization" has been removed from the AM. If it appears in the TCP/IP SNMP AM V1.1 Use book, then you've found a bug in the documentation... Chris | |||||

Also, if the attribute is defined in the MIB and it doesn't work, then it is likely a CHipcom issue. Either the MIB is wrong (they supply it) or the agent doesn't support what is in the MIB. s/rob |
