I have previously enrolled the SNMP V1.0 AM on my VMS V5.4 system running the DECmcc BMS V1.1 software, following the instructions in the DECmcc BMS V1.1 release notes - successful. What is the proper procedure to follow when enrolling the SNMP AM V1.1 software? Can I simply perform the VMSINSTAL procedure as described in the SNMP AM V1.1 release notes to upgrade to this version or is there something else in addition to this procedure that must be done? Please advise. \Thanks in Advance

The user guide for the SNMP V1.1 AM goes through the install. Get it and follow it. It works. I don't remember what the release notes said. Yes, it is just a VMSINSTAL kit. One thing to look out for! After the install is complete, do a directory of MCC_SYSTEM:*.B* You may see an older copy of the parse tables in MCC_SPECIFIC and the new one in MCC_COMMON. If so, delete (or rename) the old one. This will cause the new stuf to show up in DECmcc when you start it. s/rob |
