Recently, I have completed an installation MCCEMS V2.0, MCCBMSV1.1,
MCCDIR V1.1 and DNS V1.1. Unfortunately, I tried to register a node it
complaining "%DNS-E-UNKNOWNENTRY, Requested entry does not exist"
What could have gone wrong?
Any help will be appreciated.
George.

Did you run the DNS setup command file after installing DECmcc BMS and DNS? I suggest you take a look at BSYBEE::DUA0:[PUBLIC]FULLINSTALL.PS (if you have an LPS40, I suggest you print two pages per paper) JCE | |||||

Yes, I did John. As you can see in my attach copy in "***DNS SERVER***"
Thanks John for your response and documentation.

You might want to try executing sys$manager:dns$change_def_file.com
to make sure your pointing to the proper name server and look for
dns events for errors.
Just some thoughts

| 1597.4 | Still sounds like DNS | TOOK::R_SPENCE | Nets don't fail me now... | Mon Oct 07 1991 12:29 | 8 |
Are all the backtranslation child directories present?
Do you have write (and read etc) access to the directories in DNS?
Are the ACEs on the DNS directory entries set up to propagate correct
access to child directories and objects?
