1586.0. "INV_ENTITY and ACCVIO when adding reg node" by BLKPUD::WARNESG (Mae hen iaith y Cymry more fyw ag erioed) Thu Oct 03 1991 07:04
Could anyone help me out with a problem with MCC V1.1 ?
I am a complete newcomer to this product and the information below
is derived from a workstation screen dump sent in by a customer.
The customer experiences problems when trying to add a registered node
to a new domain.
Using the command line interface, it generates the error
%MCC-E_INV_ENTITY, Invalid Entity Structure
Using the DECwindows interface, the following occurs
Map window message: Software error an internal error has occurred in
the Iconic Map PM.
A window with the Icon "Create Member" displays :
No such entity:
Unknown Entity
The Entity class is Node4
A window displays the entity class details as follows
Node4 |.dna_node.brimva
|____________________________
Finally, there is an access violation when trying to use the DECwindows
I/F
%SYSTEM-F-ACCVIO, access violation, reason mask =01,
VA=01040004,PC=00092226, PSL-03C00000
I have scoured this notesfile looking at all the ACCVIO entries, but
none have this footprint, leading me to consider that there could be
user error involved (as this is a new installation)
Unfortunately, with practically zero MCC knowledge it is difficult to
know what to ask the customer by way of what actions he took
Could anyone *PLEASE* help ??

>>What products were installed?
BMS
>>What is the config?
Standard Configuration (ie all defaults)
>>What USERNAME is being used?
His own username, (ie not SYSTEM, or similar)
>>Who did the install?/Is there a log of the install?
Sorry, I don't have the answers to these just now.
>>Describe more about what the customer is trying to do.
He is using the command file which DNS apparantly generates to
register these nodes.
