I am a lit bit new with DECMCC. We have a customer which is interested by DECMCC. He has two sites linked with private X25, no extended lan. We have offered him a solution with 2 DECMCC station running in each site. For what I have understand until now on DECMCC, we have to do that because all the protocols which manage the bridge & terminal servers will not be able to go over X25. The second reason for having two DECMCC was the fact that we can distribute the director over X25. Is it true for private X25? IF yes , when the distributed director will be available and will it be possible to distribute it over private X25. Regards Pierre

1534.1 | Does DECrpc run over X.25? | TOOK::STRUTT | Management - the one word oxymoron | Fri Sep 20 1991 18:43 | 11 |
Although the work is not yet complete, it would be a reasonable guess that any implementation of the distributed DECmcc director would use an RPC-like mechanism (as documented in the SRM). As such, clearly one of the available technologies is the DECrpc. So you might reword your question into: does DECrpc run over a private X.25 Perhaps this question could be asked in the RPC notes file? Colin |
