1498.0. "non-robust POPULATE DOMAIN" by NAC::ENGLAND () Thu Sep 12 1991 18:21
Gentlepersons, what do these messages mean? I tried running the iconic
map because I wanted to get to the funky stuff right away, with
pulldowns and bitmaps etc. I tried to populate domain "ben", I get
this window that forces me to fill in a field that I wasn't prepared
to fill in, I took a guess and put my own workstation's name in,
and this happens...
I now understand that I should have put a wildcard global entity spec
in there (from your online help) but it should give a reasonable
error.

1498.1 | Can not duplicate the problem, Is it lurking. | TOOK::A_MOORE | | Fri Sep 13 1991 16:03 | 18 |
| Almost every time I tried this the expected result happen. Which is a valid
error warning appears and an popup error message "Please correct validation errors."appears
if user ignores the warning. The PM catches the error before it is dispatched
to the Domain FM.
The user would then bring up help entity domain populate to determine a correct
select list syntax.
I tried about 60 incorrect select list syntaxes on several version and ultrix
machines with correct response. Including Ben's workstation ( which is a phase V
ultrix node running DECmcc T1.2.1 with LOCAL_NS)
I saw one crash "exception during thread termination". which is different from
1498.0 note So something was wrong But I could not make it happen again.
So please if anyone sees a reproducible case send mail.
