section 1.5.1 Shared Memory And Semaphores I tried the following: grep smmax /sys/conf/mips/TLON grep smseg /sys/conf/mips/TLON but found no matches. So how do I check it anyway? I just noticed that I have to rebuild my kernel to run MCC, because of the shared memory requirements. I also noticed that I'm way short of swap space. Note: this is totally unacceptable if MCC is to be used widely. I can see reconfiguring systems which are dedicated to network management functions, but not the average workstation. You should be able to install on a vanilla workstation, but require these changes if they want to run every bell and whistle in MCC. I The SCP for MCC should let you know what resources are missing. 32 megabytes for the dictionary!!! When will this be fixed? Then you could take that question out about where to put the dictionary. ben

Hi Ben. Sorry you're back! :-) It will install on default systems if you don't use all of it. But at the moment we don't have any way of determining that. The shmem defaults will work if you don't run the exporter. The 32MB for the dictionary seems high - we should check it out, but it's going to be big one way or another until we do something about inheritance. | |||||

I think I got the 32MB dictionary size figure from the release notes. In actuality, it appears to be closer to 40 megabytes, I used df /users/england before and after the installation. |
