Hi there, The following error happens two or three times a week from various HISTORIAN jobs running. I've got twelve of these jobs running and I don't have a clue as to what to look for/at. I tried looking for this message in both VMS and MCC message DOCs without luck. It appears to be something from VMS itself. Has anyone else encountered this prob? A little help from a guru is most appreciated. thanks, brad... +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ $! $ BTS == "$SYS$SYSTEM:MCC_HISTORIAN_FM_BG.EXE" $ BTS ".AKO-20" %QFILE-E-OPENERR, unable to open queue file MCC job terminated at 9-SEP-1991 08:14:24.79

The message "%QFILE-E-OPENERR, unable to open queue file" comes from the Historian background process. The foreground and background Historian processes communicate using queue file located in the domain directory. Periodically the background process tries to open this file in order to get a new command from foreground. Could you, please, provide more information about your Historian background processes: 1. What entities are recorded; 2. How many recordings; 3. What is a polling interval. Thanks, Sam | |||||

Hi Sam, Info as requested: >> 1. What entities are recorded; >> 2. How many recordings; >> 3. What is a polling interval. There are about 72 links with information being recorded. This is spread across the 12 processes. The number of circuits being recorded for each process varies from two to about a dozen. Each link has a recording for LINE CHAR daily, CIRCUIT CHAR daily, and CIRCUIT COUNTERS hourly. brad... |
