1391.0. "VMS vs Ultrix DECmcc functionality?" by EEMELI::MITTS (back on the chain-gang,..) Mon Aug 26 1991 08:01

I'd need to understand implications of moving a customer thru
DECmcc/VMS -> DECmcc/Ultrix. I could find in here data on converting
VMS to Ultrix but no data comparing VMS/Ultrix functionality and
no info on third party work on Ultrix.

Can anybody shed light on what AM/FMs will be in the Ultrix shipment?
My main needs are Phase V and SNMP with MIB extensions. Or where can
	I look?

Have any of our third parties indicated that they will be issuing
versions of their FMs for Ultrix (Vitalink)?

	Regs, Hkan

Vitalink currently has *no* plans to port the Translan AM to
    DECmcc/Ultrix.

1391.3DECnet/OSI AM will be there as wellTOOK::CAREYTue Aug 27 1991 11:3013

As will the DECnet/OSI (Phase 5) AM and the DECnet Phase 4 AM.

You haven't heard much about the differences between DECmcc/VMS and
DECmcc/Ultrix because it is our intent that there be as few differences
as possible between the two. I know of no work being done inside of
the DECmcc engineering organization which is not intended for both
    VMS and Ultrix.

Some other organizations may be a different story....
