1357.0. "MCC system requirements" by RDGENG::PRATT () Tue Aug 20 1991 07:24
Hi,
I am currently trying to size a system to manage Easynet here in Reading using
DECmcc. Can anybody tell me how much disk space is required for each entity in
each of the AM's, ie. register, export data, and historian data. I am
particularly interested in the PhaseV and SNMP AM's, but information on all the
AM's would be appreciated.
Also has anyone written a planning guide for system requirements for MCC, ie cpu
power, memory, etc for managing major networks. We are currently using a 3600
with 32Mb memory, and the system is not powerful enough.
I have already read the document listed in 1210 (which is a good starting point)
Cheers

1357.2 | What about alarms? | RDGENG::PRATT | | Tue Aug 20 1991 07:52 | 5 |
| Also if I want to set up alarms to monitor 50+ bridges, check reachability of
200+ terminal servers, plus alarms on 10 DECnet routers - both PhaseIV and
PhaseV, what sort of overhead on memory/cpu resources is this going to generate?

| Re .1
As I mentioned in .0 I have already got this (and it is a good starting point).
It doesn't however cover the PhaseV, SNMP and TSAM entities.
