1332.0. "MCC_PTB_PARSER.BPT file protection question." by RAAJI::ALAGAPPAN () Mon Aug 12 1991 14:59
We've noticed that after installing some of the AM's the
MCC_PTB_PARSER.BPT file has had the file protection changed.
MCC_PTB_PARSER.BPT;3
1538 1-AUG-1991 12:56:38.38 (RWD,RWD,R,)
MCC_PTB_PARSER.BPT;2
1488 18-MAR-1991 18:01:35.38 (RWD,RWD,RWD,R)
MCC_PTB_PARSER.BPT;1
1211 1-FEB-1991 15:33:05.90 (RWED,RWED,RWED,R)
File version 3 was after installing the SNMP AM, File version 2 was
after installing the TSAM. Is there a reason this happens? According
to the DECmcc installation guide Exhibit 6-10 the defaults should be
what the version 1 file has.
Currently running DECmcc V1.1 on VMS 5.4, SNMP AM EFT V T1.1.0
and TSAM version unknown...
Thanks,
Paul

1332.1 | no reason... | TOOK::CALLANDER | Jill Callander DTN 226-5316 | Wed Aug 21 1991 17:13 | 8 |
| there is no good reason why it happens except that each of the kits updates
the parse tables, and based upon how they do it the protections may not
be being set in an expected fashion. You are right they should all be
setting the protection explicitly to that in version 1. I will forward this
information to the appropriate development teams.
(sorry for the delay in responding, I am just catching up; I have been in
class for the past week, and then hurricane bob...)
