1328.0. "Can't Register SNMP entity" by DUCAT2::64544::LICAUSE (Al Licause (338-5661)) Fri Aug 09 1991 14:44
When I try to register a known ULTRIX system using the command:
REGISTER SNMP nodename
under V1.1 of the TCPIP_AM, I get the following error:
No such entity: SNMP civosi
Unknown Entity = SNMP civosi
add
%MCC-W-ENTMISSING, entity is missing
register snmp civosi
SNMP civosi
AT 9-AUG-1991 13:39:52
The requested operation cannot be completed
MCC Routine Error = %MCC-E-INCONSISTENTCLA, specified
class is inconsistent with entity
class
This node is registered as a Phase V node and can be accessed as such.
I don't see this node, however, when I go into UCX and do a show host.
Are these related and if so, what needs to be done to resolve this?
What else could be causing this error?
I do have other SNMP entities registered successfully?
Thanks,
Al

1328.1 | Need to register in UCX as well | SUBWAY::REILLY | Mike Reilly - New York Bank District | Fri Aug 09 1991 17:52 | 7 |
| You need to register the node in UCX before registering it in
DECmcc.
$UCX SET HOST "civosi"/address=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/alias="CIVOSI"
$UCX loop cicosi ! Just to check is it's reachable via TCP-IP
