    Not to sound evasive, but you probably should ask the ACMS folks
    (whoever they are).

    Try posting in this question in the ACMS conf. (CLUSTA::ACMS)

1302.2common agent - NAS Management ServicesENUF::GASSMANFri Aug 02 1991 09:2112
    To be compliant with EMA is getting easier. Next year (we hope), both
    VMS and OSF will be using the common agent. This provides a CMIS
    interface to any application. The applications comes up with a MSL,
    similar to an access module MSL (but simpler), which is compiled into
    the common agent. The agent will accept three protocols, SNMP, CMIP,
    and RPC. Others can be added later.

    Any application group should be designing the use of the common agent
    into their code today. The only glitch is that ultrix isn't yet
    planning on supporting the common agent - OSF only.

Your message was forwarded to the ACMS (next release) project Leader who was
asked to reply. For questions about ACMS, please do what .1 suggests.

re .2

Currently, we have no intention of doing what you are suggesting.

    But the common agent runs on ULTRIX today. It's just not being shipped
    as part of ULTRIX.
