I tried registering an ethernet station,(a SIEMENS workstation). It registered ok. Show of the identifier, status and characteristic is ok. A show of the counters does NOT output any information. It returns nothing and there is not error. The char shows it is IEEE802_only. Any idea what the problem is or what can cause it to behave this way. Raj SWS Singapore

Hi Raj, The counter attributes returned for a station varies depending on the value of the 'functions supported' characteristic. Ethernet AM counter attributes are only returned for stations which have a functions supported value of DEC_ENETV2 or DEC_IEEE802 (since these are stations which support MOP protocol -- where the counter information comes from). An empty attribute list is returned for stations which have a functions supported value of ENETV2_ONLY or IEEE802_ONLY. Since you registered your workstation as an IEEE802_ONLY station, the Ethernet AM is behaving correctly. -Linda |
