I am trying to install the VITALINK AM and have run into a problem. I allowed the installation procedure to rebuild the parser tables. When it said it could take three hours I went to lunch. When I came back an hour later it had run up 50,000,000 page faults and the process was logging 5000 faults per second. It had just built 1.27.1. Has anyone else found this problem? The working set at the time was 2048 and no IO was being done. Thanks, Peter

I've done some playing and upped my working set to 5000. I manually restarted the MANAG/TOOL/PARSE and it is doing much better now. Should one of the documentatin manuals (I'm not sure which) be updated so novice MCC users like myself aren't caught by surprise? Peter | |||||

You should increase the working set some more. I use 12000 for my WSEXTENT. DECmcc will use it. The release notes make mention that large workingsets can be needed. s/rob |
