1193.0. "TSAM Problem Showing Correct Characteristics" by MAIL::CLAYTON (Merlin Clayton DTN 445-7217) Thu Jun 27 1991 14:25
I'm having a problem with TSAM that I don't yet see discussed in the conference.
I'm running DECmcc on a VAXstation that has both TSM and TSAM installed. When
I look at specific terminal server attributes with TSAM, some of the attributes
are incorrectly reported. As an example. port attributes for Signal Control,
DSRlogout, Autoconnect, etc. for a DS300 are shown as "Disabled" when these
characteristics are actually "Enabled" on the targeted server. What gives?
I'm using the IM interface, clicking on a target server, clicking on "Ports",
selecting a specific port, using the SHOW directive to show characteristics,
status, etc.
Has anyone else experienced this problem, or am I doing something wrong?

The first thing I would do is double check that you are using the same
terminal server in TSM and in TSAM when you compare the
characteristics. They are using two distinct databases to store
servers and could easily get out of synch. Try showing the chars by
referring to the server address instead of the name.
If that works, maybe you could post a log of the TSM display and of the
TSAM FCL display?
