1187.0. "Point to the same map from different users?" by STKHLM::AMARTENSSON (smooth as ice) Wed Jun 26 1991 10:02
Hi,
I have tried to point to the same domain map (using the same domain name)
from different users. The map do only come up with the
entities autoplaced and not as it is written, if the users hasn't done
$ SET DEF in advance to the directory where the mapfile resides.
Is there any way, by logical names for instance, to have different
users view the same domain with the mapfile in only one location?
Thanks in advance
Anna-Lena

Anna-Lenna,
MCC_MAPS is where we look for map files and MCC_ICONS is where we
look for icon files. BTW on VMS they can be search lists. I'm not sure
about U**IX though.

1187.2 | Change MCC_MAPS | NETCUR::WADE | Bill Wade T&N Course Development | Mon Jul 01 1991 13:30 | 11 |
| The way I've solved this problem is by changing the logical name
MCC_MAPS to point to MCC_COMMON then to SYS$DISK:[].
By default it is a search list that points to the users current directory
then to MCC_COMMON.
Then any existing maps that you want to be generally available will have
to be moved to MCC_COMMON.
