1083.0. "PB getting sample icon in iconic map toolbox" by TENERE::HAYES (A European Telecomet ...) Mon Jun 03 1991 08:17

	Hello,

I have a problem with getting the icon for SAMPLE into the
toolbox!

I have successfully gone through the following checkpoints:

I have build up a new development dictionary in my own directory <.mydict>. This
is done by copying the dictionary files from "mcc_system", redefining mcc_system
to point to <.mydict> and use the DAP to delete unwanted classes. Remaining
classes are:
     MCC with subclasses:
     Subclass (2) : CONFIG_FM 13
     Subclass (2) : CONTROL_FM 38
     Subclass (2) : DOMAIN_FM 25
     Subclass (2) : FCL 14
     Subclass (2) : ICONICMAP 18
     Subclass (2) : PA 33

Then I copy all files related to sample_am to a new private directory called
<.sample_am>. Then I run
"@MCC_SAMPLE_AUTO_TOOLS.COM MSL PTB FIRST" from this directory.

I also compile all the c-files, link etc.. as defined in
MCC_SAMPLE_AUTO_MAKE.COM.

All this goes fine with no error messages!

Then I enroll mcc_sample_am and check that the module works with

SHOW SAMPLE 0 ALL IDENTIFIERS.

The response is OK:

Then I exit FCL PM and starts Iconic Map PM and open a new domain.
But now there is no icon available for sample AM in the toolbox!

I have checked that I get the MCC_SAMPLE_ICON.DAT in MCC_ICONS
I have checked the sample AM is well defined in the dictionary
 with manage/tool/dict
      SHOW CLASS SAMPLE ...

Show class sample shows:

-> Class (1) : SAMPLE
     Definition (3) : PRESENTATION_NAME
     Definition (3) : INSTANCE_REQUIRED
     Definition (3) : DYNAMIC
     Definition (3) : INSTANCE_DATATYPE
     Subclass (2) : LINE 1
     Attribute (5) : ADDRESS 1
     Attribute (5) : IDENTIFICATION 3

     Attribute_Partition (11) : IDENTIFIERS 1
     Attribute_Partition (11) : REFERENCES 5
     Attribute_Partition (11) : STATUS 2

To me this information seems to be OK!

Can you give some proposals for where to look for errors?

E.g. what must be done in order to have the icon for sample in the toolbox?

Catherine,
There is nothing you can do to bring SAMPLE into the
toolbox. We explicitly filter it out for version 1.1.

However, it's on the list.
