We are looking into installing DECmcc on a machine that is doing some otther things like VCS and RSM. I would like to hear from some people who have this product up and running. I would like some data around resources, CPU, MEMORY, network, I/O and any problems that have occured with resources. We are considering installing it on a machine that is about 40 - 50% busy already and we need to have some data to start with so as we can determine wether it is feasible to do this. I would be interested to hear about any problems resource related. We would want to install the complete package. Also some info on how much space all these files take up in a "working" environment. Thanks for any info that may help me get going with this product.

The system is a Microvax 3600 with 32 meg of memory. On a good day, 50% of memory is used and 40% CPU is used on average. This system is standalone. | |||||

It of course depends on: how you manage/what you manage/and how many you manage. I was unable to fully manage 45 routers with about 75 circuits with a 3520 and 32M. I had run out of memory. The CPU wasn't fully loaded yet but then again I hadn't made it to full production services. This system was only running MCC. So it still depends on how much you intend to manage but this may gave you a better idea of where your resource needs fall. regards, brad... |
