Is there any way for the application to control the order of attributes displayed in the IMPM Set form? E.g., display them in the order they are defined in the .MS file? Currently, IMPM displays the Set attributes in an alphabetical order, so there is no way to group together semantically related attributes. In my case (Bridge AM), the related attributes actually end up at the opposite ends of the screen, which is quite confusing. Also, this is one of the obvious things where the users have a hard time to understand 'why' ... Any suggestions? Thanks a lot, Herman

Herman, First let me explain how the list is set up. For the attribute partition in question, we get the definition attribute_list from the dictionary. This returns the code for each attribute, one at a time. They happen to be returned in alphabetical order. Certainly, we could allow the user to reorder the attributes in any way desired via a customization feature; but this would have to be traded off against something else. Alternatively, the attribute list codes could perhaps be stored in the same order as they are entered in the MS. I would assume that could be done. As of now, I know of no such efforts, but this is certainly the place to make requests heard. Verna |
