VCS will let you, as an option, configure it so that it uses it's own window
manager. If you don't use the option, it's just another windowing application.

Simply.... Can you confirm or deny that VCS and MCC can CO-exist on
the same system???

| I have passed your request along to appropriate parties. When I have an
answer I will post it. But from Freds it surely looks possible.

re -.1
I read your .0 note, called the one of the developers of VCS,
posed your question to him, hung up the phone and replied to your
.0 note.
It's as definite as it can get :->

| It is more an operations issue than a technical one; since VCS controls
all the console ports, you don't want other applications to crash or
cause any problems to the VCS host?

Lillian,
What are console ports. What is the VCS host.
Does any out there have any information on this?

| Re -.*, Fred and i chatted about this note before he posted his reply.
Since i led the VCS project so i think i'm qualified to be definitive
on this subject. DECmcc and VCS can co-exist on the same platform.
Lillian's point in .5 about operations should also be taken but only to
the extend that both DECmcc and VCS may try to outdo each other to
consume system resources thus slowing each other down. I think DECmcc
is stable such that the risk of crashing the system is non existent.
