1008.1 | Check .MCC_IP directory | TRM::KWAK | | Tue May 14 1991 12:41 | 9 |
| RE: .0
Please make sure that you have .MCC_IP directory set up in your
default namespace.
If the directory does not exist, use MCC_SYSTEM:MCC_DNS_SETUP.COM
to create it.
In MCC V1.1, SNMP objects are stored in .MCC_IP directory.

1008.2 | Unsupported. | CHRISB::BRIENEN | DECmcc Bridge|Station|SNMP Management. | Tue May 14 1991 12:42 | 18 |
| The version you are running (X1.1) is not supported.
I'll check with the SNMP Project Leader about having this kit removed
from the network.
I suggest that you do the following:
Install the V1.0 SSB version of SNMP AM and get *that*
to work (this at least verifies that you've done the
necessary DNS stuff to have SNMP AM work at all). Please
check the DECmcc V1.1 Release Notes for mandatory patches
to the dictionary before doing this.
If you have done this already, but need functionality that X1.1
provides (Wellfleet MIB), let us know...

1008.3 | Where is this documented? | SPANKY::SHEEHAN | | Thu Jul 18 1991 11:17 | 19 |
|
I have had this type of problem (this exact one as well) with
various AM's etc. of MCC and after long hours of trying to weed through
all the different documentation for MCC (USE guides for every little
piece) I have found that most problems could be solve with some
detailed information that would normally be found in an install guide. In
this case I have yet to find in the doc's anything that tell's me to create
the entry for DNS (I've known that was the basic problem but, didn't
know what the directory should be called.). Am I missing documentation?
I have nine V11 USE guides and only one install guide. I have access to
MCC Notes (thank god!) but, my customers don't. Where would they find
these answers?
Thanks,
JS
