Louis -
I believe that the problem is due to the test version numbers
(ie, T1.2, G2.0). The inability of TSAM to recognize these
field-test/internal versions of the software had previously
been reported, and I believe it has been fixed since the release
of the EFT kit, but I going to double-check on this.
In the mean time, what you can do to manage these servers is
to get them loaded with the latest software versions (ie,
V1.2 for MUXserver 300, V2.0 or V2.1 for DS500).

Thanks for the reply Lynne. I think I will try and upgrade all the
servers, starting with a DS550 tonight, and see how I go.

973.3 | TSAM Iconic Map Problem | SNOC02::MISNETWORK | Take a byte | Wed May 22 1991 01:51 | 14 |
| I finally got around to upgrading a couple of my DECserver 550s to V2.1.
Unfortunately I still am having problems. When I try to check the ports
on the DS550 using ICONIC map, I get the error -
Login failed due to unexpected server response
When I entered the access password as an operations qualifier, I got a
message box up with no message, just that date and time. If I use FCL,
I can get the required port information. The same problem happens when
looking at the LAT child entities.
Any ideas ?
Cheers,
Louis

This bug was also reported by someone else to me. It has been
fixed since the release of the EFT kit. (Unfortunately, there's
no work-around available in the meantime).

Thanks Lynne.
I'm getting used to the old "it will be in the next version" line. =:')

Louis -
Sorry for giving you "the line"! Unfortunately, we can't put out
a new version each time a bug gets fixed.
