Hello, I have just used the REPORTS package and have noticed that all the utilization option outputs do not state whether the info is INBOUND or OUTBOUND or a combination of BOTH. In comparing the data to NMCC, option 11 appeared to be OUTBOUND. Is this the case? The PA doc also didn't shed any light on this. thanks for any info, brad...

My understanding is that it is a combination of both. Is this a problem?

>> My understanding is that it is a combination of both. Is this a >> problem? This is a definite problem from my perspective. What kind of combination is it (an average of the IN and OUT for each point or the highest of either IN or OUT for each point)? This should be documented if it is not changed in the future so the user knows what he/she is getting. Utilization figures are typically used as WARNING signs to the user that it might be time to upgrade the circuit before performance is impacted. If a circuit has an IN average of 20% and an OUT average of 100% then MCC will report (if using an averaging formula) 60%. This circuit is already in DEEP trouble causing this user severe performance problems yet they can't see it using REPORTS. Credibility is on the line here. MCC should change this for V1.2 or sooner if it uses the averaging method!!! A seperate line for both INBOUND **AND** OUTBOUND should be plotted. best regards, brad...
971.3 | Will generate both INBOUND & OUTBOUND graphs | TOOK::ANWARUDDIN | Anwar | Fri Jun 28 1991 17:19 | 4 |
re .2 We will change the Circuit utilization graphical report to show both INBOUND and OUTBOUND utilization graphs instead of the one currently produced.
