937.0. "Internal Error in DECnet Phase IV AM" by KAOFS::R_DOIRON (DECmcc ==ALL in ONE for Networks) Fri Apr 19 1991 15:26
A customer has the following alarm rule set up:
Create MCC 0 ALARMS RULE x25c02-dlm01 -
Category = "DLM circuit problem" -
Description = "DLM (Toronto/Vancouver) dlm-01 via FASTPAC 30265000240 -
4 is not up" <<this command is on one line in his example>>
Expression = (Change_of(node4 x25c02 circuit dlm-01 substate,none,*)),
Procedure = SYS$COMMON:[MCC]MCC_ALARMS_MAIL_ALARM.COM1, -
Exception Handler = SYS$COMMON:[MCC]MCC_ALARMS_MAIL_EXCEPTION.COM;1, -
Parameter = "@MCC_COMMON:MAILING.LIS"
When the alarm fires the requested mail is sent but it contains
an error message.
From : NMCC01::SYSTEM "DLM (Toronto/Vancouver) d"19-APR-1991

Exception: Internal error in DECnet Phase IV AM
The alarm fires ok and the command procedure produces mail but the
"Internal error in DECnet Phase IV AM" is worrying the customer.
Any minor syntax errors are probably due to my typing
Any and all ideas welcome.

937.1 | What DECmcc are you running? | TOOK::CAREY | | Mon Apr 22 1991 15:00 | 14 |

What version of MCC are you running?
DECmcc V1.1 External Field Test had a bug in that area (I believe).
You'd have to check the release notes to be sure, but the November kit
(EFT) could mess up the ILV encoding and/or error out when the substate
returned was something other than "none".
We fixed that problem at least for the SSB kit, which is available
(see note 3. something).

937.2 | I think there is still a problem in pre-SSB kit | KERNEL::RWATSON | UK CS Product & Tech Group | Tue Apr 30 1991 15:37 | 6 |
| I saw this error in the pre-SSB version of the V1.1 kit, released a
month or so ago, but I don;t have more details than .0. I'll see if I
can make if happen to order.
