758.0. "Phase V AM with DNVEXT node?" by CABOOS::WRIDE (Remember what the Dormouse said) Wed Feb 27 1991 14:16

I noticed that the recent FT release of DNVEXT supports a CMIP Management
Listener, so thought it would be fun to try installing it and using the
Phase V AM to talk to it. I deleted the node as a Phase IV entity and
added it back in as a Phase V entity, then did a

That raises two questions:

  1. Is it really necessary to delete the Node4 before registering as a
     Node? (I got a message about incompatible attributes or something.)
     Eventually all nodes will go from Phase IV to Phase V, so it seems
     there should be an easy way to make that change in DECmcc.

  2. Having the same problem with the name as with the DNU software. Two
     examples don't make a rule, but this is a disturbing trend. (Defining
     MCC_DNA5_AM_LOG to 200 didn't make any difference.)

758.1maybe a known bug in DNU EFT1NAC::ENGLANDThu Mar 07 1991 09:358
    Are you using the first EFT release of DECnet-ULTRIX? That release has
    a known bug in sending back the node name which is fixed in the EFT
    update kit. If you want a pointer to the (FINAL!!) DNU EFT update kit,
    send mail to me at netrix::england, DNU is looking for people to
    test it.
