729.0. "Additional reference attributes" by CCIIS1::ROGGEBAND (_ hilie _) Mon Feb 18 1991 04:23
Hello,
Question : Is it possible to add reference attributes to existing
object classes ? i.e. augment entities such as Node4, Bridge, SNMP ?
Most customers like the idea of reference attributes, but they want
"their own" attributes. Something tells me it shouldn't be too
difficult to do that.
amicalement,
Philippe.

729.1 | I think so | BARREL::LEMMON | | Mon Feb 18 1991 21:54 | 12 |
| I believe it can be done by writing up a management specification using
the syntax that augments an existing entity. The new reference
attribute names/codes should be registered (at a minimum make sure they don't
conflict with any existing attribute names/codes name) and the
datatype must be latin1string.
I don't have the exact MS syntax for augmenting an existing entity but
believe it is in the toolkit documentation.
