Does DECmcc support multiple entity selection and management? If so, it does not appear to work. I had assumed that management operations such as set or show could be carried out against more than one entity at a time since more than one entity (of the same type) can be selected. In DECwindow mode, the pointer is placed on the entity and MB1 button is pressed. Then additional entities can be selected by moving the pointer to it, then pushing MB1 while holding down the shift key. Is this just a DECwindow feature that DECmcc inherited, or does DECmcc indeed support this capability. If it does there seems to be a problem with it. I selected 2 ports of a given terminal_server, then tried to execute a show characteristic operation expecting that the characteristics would be displayed for each port. Only one port characteristics were displayed. I also tried to show node4 information, from different attribute partitions, on two node4 entities selected simultaniously. Again the attributes were displayed for only one of the nodes. Is this a bug or a non-supported feature? It was my impression that multiple entity management was one of the key benefits of DECmcc. Is this not so? Howard.

When the management window appeared the first port should have been displayed. If you had then pulled down the Navigation menu in the management window and selected "Next" it shoul have displayed the info for the second entity. Fred

I found this feature tonight but would like more (isn't it always the way). Firstly, going backup the top to pull down the nav menu then select next for each forwarding address on a bridge is a bit of a pain. Can the NEXT option be tied to a key or put on the MB2 menu? Secondly, is there a way of selecting lots of items at once rather than SHIFT MB1 on each. I tried SHIFT MB1 PULL but no joy. Thirdly, is there a way of tailoring the default display for (say) physical addresses on a bridge so it shows you their config much like SH KN PHYS ADDR used to under RBMS? Finally, (I'll check the directory for this but while I'm here I'll ask anyway) what is the story with the bars that appear on things like lines, physical addresses, etc (children I guess) on the display? Is this a bug? I believe I have the latest kit - from last week. thanks, Andrew

In your sys$login:mcc_resource.dat file, set >>> windowBackground to a color such as light blue or something. >>> It has something to do with the VMS 5.4 server. Don't know >>> exactly what though.
