650.0. "Domain addition problem..." by WOTVAX::PURNELLR (...all this now !) Wed Jan 23 1991 04:44

    I have a fresh V1.1 MCC installed, I am currently trying to create a
    domain via the windows interface. I get the following

    Creating the new domain     .test_domain

    I have 2 windows returned

    >DECmcc Message:
    >Map Window Message: no corresponding entity instance exists

    >Create Domain:
    >The requested operation connot be completed

    If I repeat the exercise I am told the domain already exists (there is
    an OBJECT in DNS .test_domain_MCC_EXT000 created following my initial
    request)

    Am I doing something wrong ?
    Is the Director broken ?

    Any help would be appreciated..........

650.1Sounds like DNS AccessNSSG::R_SPENCENets don't fail me now...Wed Jan 23 1991 08:304
    You likely have an access control problem with DNS. Check your access
    to the required dns directories.

650.2try some cleanups if necessaryTOOK::JESURAJWed Jan 23 1991 13:2724

    Check the access control as suggested by .1

    If you still have problems, it may be due to inconsitent entries in
    DNS.

    To clean that up do the following:

        (a) Try to delete that domain using MCC. If successful then you are
           all set.

        (b) if (a) does not work, then use DNS$CONTROL to delete then objects

            .test_domain
            .test_domain_mcc_ext***

            Then you should be all set.
