When trying to add a bridge using the Iconic interface, I receive the below error. This only occurs when the bridge hasn't been registered yet. ********************************************************* The requested operation cannot be completed MCC Unhandled Service Reply |This request cannount use the By |User _________________________________ | By User ___________

647.1 | Bridge AM doesn't support BY USER | CHRISB::BRIENEN | DECmcc Bridge|Station Management. | Tue Jan 22 1991 17:30 | 6 |
I'm not sure exactly what the problem is here, but the Bridge AM does not accept the BY USER qualifier (it is "Recognized but rejected"). The IMPM shouldn't be defaulting the sending of BY USER... Did you specify BY USER when you specified the ADD directive? | |||||

I found what was causing the problem. I had added a access control to manage a decrouter prior to working on the bridge registration. Once I cleared the by user and password field the problem cleared up. I would think that since the bridge doesn't except the by user then it shouldn't be passed. But I guess once the user find this they won't do it again. Thanks for your answer, Bob |
