| Hmmm. Haven't seen this one before...
Could you provide the following information to assist us in identifying
the problem?
1. What type of system are you running MCC on, and what type of port
device (e.g. MicroVAX II with DELQA) ? Do yu have multiple ethernet
ports on this system? The output from the MCC command
SHOW MCC 0 BRIDGE_AM ALL STATUS would be fine for port type/count
2. Can you do any other SHOW commands to this (or any other) bridge?
Example: SHOW BRIDGE 08-00-2B-12-3F-9E ALL STATUS
3. Can you REGISTER STATIONs successfully? Can you SHOW Stations?
4. What other software is running on the "problem port" ?
Is DECelms sharing it? Is LAT? Is it running DECnet?
Thanks,
Chris Brienen

MY WORKSTATION IS A VAXSTATION 3100 W/16MB MEMORY. NETWORK DEVICE
IS SVA-0. I AM RUNNING A SINGLE ETHERNET PORT.
MCC SHOW MCC 0 BRIDGE_AM ALL STATUS
DECmcc (T1.1.0)
MCC 0 BRIDGE_AM
AT 8-JAN-1991 08:42:12 Status
Examination of attributes shows:
Available Ports = { "ESA0:" }
> Can you do any other SHOW commands to this (or any other) bridge?
> Example: SHOW BRIDGE 08-00-2B-12-3F-9E ALL STATUS
mcc show bridge 08-00-2b-0c-84-5c all status
DECmcc (T1.1.0)
BRIDGE {08-00-2B-0C-84-5C}
AT 8-JAN-1991 08:59:03 Status
The requested operation cannot be completed
MCC Routine Error = %MCC-F-STOPDEVERROR, stop Ethernet
device failed. ,
VMS Routine Error = %SYSTEM-F-BADPARAM, bad parameter
value

This fails too!

As per our conversation, I am running ELMS, but have shut
it down via reboot. This doesn't seem to be the problem.
Since I'm running early release of Phase V software
with new Ethernet driver, this appears to be the problem
as you thought, though I can't confirm. I did try to
substitute the Phase IV driver, with bad results......
kept crashing during reboot!
I'd be interested to hear if anyone else is trying MCC against
Phase V!
