Hello, We had a demo with a customer, who could be very important for DEC. He was realy impressed of DECmcc. Now he asks about TCP/IP features to manage CISCO and ODS products. (I dont know ODS). I read a lot about TCP/IP. MIB I, MIB II, privat MIB's and CISCO. But how does it realy looks? Are we able to manage full CISCO products? Are we able to manage ODS Products? When we support MIB II and some other MIB's? regards Roland

Hi, Please see 517.2. > Are we able to manage full CISCO products? Not now, but very likely with the next release. > Are we able to manage ODS Products? I don't know what this is. > When we support MIB II and some other MIB's? Both definitely in the next release. Which ones are to be determined. Regards, Mike | |||||

O.K., I found the ODS products in a computer journal. That are some kind of Token Ring MAU's. They write, that there boxes can be managed by: LAN Manager, Net View and SNMP. So, we could be able to manage this boxes, more or less. I heard that there is also a AM in work to access SNA over NetView. Lets wait and see what happens in one year. Roland |
