485.0. "Many, Many Domain members..." by BSYBEE::EGOLF (John C. Egolf LKG2-2/T02 x226-7874) Thu Nov 22 1990 15:31
To our internal sites,
We had a limitation on Domain members that was under 100. We
have been working on increasing this. When the EFT kit is
announced shortly, you will be able to have about 3200 Domain
members. While there is still a restriction, it should be
enough for most users.
Unfortunately, you will have to re-load your Domains. The fix
we put in makes the current Domain structure un-usable. In the
next note I will post a pointer to four command files that you
can use to extract data from DNS and have it create a DECmcc
command file to be re-loaded into either the same namespace or
another. They are 'midnight' utilities and aren't supported.
They aren't perfect, but do appear to work. You will ONLY need
to capture (extract) the domain/domain-members in upgrading to
EFT from IFT, not all other members of DNS.
If you wish to extract your domain members, you must do it
BEFORE you upgrade to EFT (to be announced very soon).
