434.0. "new variant on ILV buffer too small, or other problem??" by ASD::HOWER (Helen Hower) Fri Oct 26 1990 11:55
I'm not sure whether this is just something that isn't there yet...?
I'm getting a
<Management Window Message: no more room in buffer for additional values>
message from Iconic Map when trying to display a response made up of (several)
VARIANT_RECORDs containing SEQUENCE_OF Latin1Strings, total ILV size somewhere
between 500+, to 1200+ bytes.
While it's not clear from the message exactly what buffer is too small, the same
command does work from FCL. Also, the Iconic map handles out_p buffer too small
properly in that the PM calls my routine back with a buffer of the size
requested - then it proceeds gives the same message....
I can post the MSL for a typical response and/or an ILV dump but it'd be fairly
long.... I figured I'd check first and see if my problem is simply that I'm
asking for something that isn't supported yet! :-)

| Many changes have been made in the Iconic Map regarding constructor datatypes
since the last kit.
I hope to test this situation in my development environment to see if the
problem has been fixed.
