432.0. "Object definitions availability" by CCIIS1::ROGGEBAND (_ hilie _) Fri Oct 26 1990 07:45
Bonjour,
I have a question from a customer regarding object definitions in the
DECmcc dictionary. He wanted to know if the MSL definition of our
objects were "public"? (This question was re-directed to me, so I could
not ask him waht on earth he wanted them for)
I suppose his questions concerns objects such as DECnet nodes, bridges,
and OSI/NMF objects when we will support them.
Thanks for your help,
Philippe.

432.1 | MCC MSL defined object definitions | KEEL::SAVAGE | Peter Savage | Tue Oct 30 1990 12:39 | 15 |
| Philippe,
Before and object can be loaded into the MCC dictionary it must be
described to the management system in a language syntax known as MSL.
Each object and the operations that can be performed on an entity
object must be defined with the MSL source. For every object and
operation defined in the MSL for a given management module there is a
corresponding definition defined in the management module MRM (module
reference manual which describes the public interface for a management
module). The MRMs for all of the V1.0 MCC MMs are contained on the MCC
toolkit distribution media.
I hope this helps!
Peter
