413.0. "CODEX FNX manageable from DECmcc" by FRAMBO::KUENKELE () Wed Oct 17 1990 14:46

	Hello,

	can anybody help me with information about the CODEX FNX 6742/6745.
	My question is, whether there will be an access module available ?
	If yes, how far are the developments and is it direct connectable
	to the FNX or only over another instance (other workstation or pc)
	between ?

	Thanks in advance Martin

    I have a similar case, where a customer would like to know if the CODEX
    AM is going to support some specific product numbers.
    Will CODEX X.25 switch 6525, and 6015 MUX be supported (and when..) ?

    Thank's

413.4Any more news on Codex?BELMNT::PIETRONIGROThu Mar 07 1991 14:506
    Is there any additional information about the Codex AM managing the
    Codex 6000 mux series (ie 6745,6740,6005,6760). It was stated that the
    AM will manage Codex devices via Codex's 9800 Net Mgmt Station. What
    equipment does that specifically address in Codex's product line?

413.5Transmission Devices?NSSG::R_SPENCENets don't fail me now...Mon Mar 11 1991 17:199
    For the current planned release of the Codex Module (as explained to me
    at Net U by the Codex rep), only Transmission Devices will be
    supported. This means things like Modems etc. Best thing is to contact
    the Codex people for details or contact Earl Ingalls at LKG.

    My understanding is that they will add devices IF it looks like the
    product will have sufficient sales demand.

The Codex Access Module requires the Codex 9800 Network Mangement System to
manage Codex devices. Currently, Codex will customize the Access Module based
on what products customers want to manage and will price it accordingly.
We are working with Codex to build a base-level release with specific
functionality.

413.7Displaying PC based info on MCC workstationAUNTB::BRILEYAre you a rock or leaf in the windWed Aug 14 1991 10:0312
    I have a customer who is looking at the CODEX PC based Network
    Management System, I believe it is the 9300(?). They are implementing
    MCC as their network management system and would like the displays from
    the CODEX system to be displayed in a window on their MCC workstation.
    Does anyone have any ideas on how this can be done?

    We have talked to them about the 9800 system, but they do not think
    that they have enough CODEX equipment to justify a $90K investment.

    Thanks,

    Rob
