I have been successful registering every entity in my testbed. I am running MCC on a system where the DNS Clearinghouse that owns the master copy of every directory is stored. If I had time to test more configurations, I would but this already took me long enough. I have two DNS servers on this LAN. The testbed contains approxiametely 11 bridges and 30 phase IV nodes. I also registered all entities as stations as well. In order to register all entities in a command file I had to slow down MCC. The DNS server generated DECnet events relating to not being able to access cache. The DNS folks told me this was a sign of the server being overloaded. In my paticular configuration, I had to include the command, SPAWN WAIT 0:0:20, inbetween every MCC Register/Deregister command.

Linda, For future reference, simply use the AT clause to defer the start time between these operations. Use <command> AT START = +::20, this will cause a 20 second delay before processing the command. |
