The person most qualified to answer this question is Jim Lemmon. He is not in today, but he has been forwarded your question. Fred

re .1, .2 This change of issuing a "show all ident..." first did it. I have to re-code around it, but that's simple enough. It would be nice to describe the add algorithm in the release_notes and publicise the change. Thanks, Phil

Phil, Can you give a brief description on how doing the show identifiers operation to see if the entity has already been created caused your code to break. I need to understand this better. This algorithm change should be transparent to the xM. Thanks /Jim
385.5 | Reason: My prototype "show all ident" was cheating | BYBLOS::TAMER | Tue Oct 09 1990 14:26 | 15
Jim, It did not really break it. But, my "show all ident" was returning the aes entity in out-p without checking if the entity really existed. This was fine before in the prototype code (not production code). So when your IM PM calls "show all ident" and gets back the identifier, the IM PM assumes that the entity already exists and it doesn't call create. This should be fine with my real AM.
