345.1 | export doesn't display anything | TOOK::SHMUYLOVICH | | Fri Sep 21 1990 17:02 | 15 |

Larry,
What do you mean by
> ...so I can use the export command to see statistics.
If you want to see statistics just use
SHOW node4 crony all statistics.
Export command creates a RDB file and writes in it statistics
attributes as well as all other attributes for the specified entity.
Sorry, I don't know how to set the line speed.

345.2 | I mean report on. | ASD::LSMITH | | Fri Sep 21 1990 17:25 | 6 |

I mean so I can get the reports function to work. Correct me if I'm wrong but I
was told the line speed needed to be set in order for the export command to
work correctly.

345.3 | dns registration of NODE4 and LINE entity | NAC::SCHLENER | | Mon Sep 24 1990 14:26 | 6 |
| All you should have to do is register (in DNS via MCC) the NODE4 entity
and the line entity. Both must be present before you can set line
speed.

345.4 | Does it work? | REDBCK::mike | Mike Dransfield, Sydney RSSG | Mon Sep 24 1990 21:39 | 8 |
| re: .3
Have you tried it and seen it work?
I tried this with IFT 1.1 last week and couldn't get it to work, no matter
what I tried.
Thanks,
Mike

345.5 | DNS/MCC does not know about the line speed attribute? | ASD::LSMITH | | Tue Sep 25 1990 10:12 | 36 |
| I registered the line with:
MCC> register node4 crony line *
Node4 crony Line
AT 24-SEP-1990 11:17:25
Registration Successful
When I do:
MCC> dir node4 crony line *
Node4 crony Line QNA-0
AT 25-SEP-1990 08:59:36
Directory successful.
Name = QNA-0
Then doing:
MCC> set node4 crony line qna-0 line speed 10000000
Node4 crony Line qna-0
Characteristics
AT 24-SEP-1990 11:18:49
Internal error in DECnet Phase IV AM.
MCC Error = %MCC-E-NOATTRIB, no such DNS attribute
There does not seem to be a line speed attribute. Could this be the problem?
If so, is it something I'm doing wrong?

345.6 | go to the source | NAC::SCHLENER | | Tue Sep 25 1990 13:02 | 7 |
| This used to work back in the spring. My suggestion is to either QAR it
(if you have access to the QAR system), or send mail to Jim Carey on
the TOOK cluster - he's the project leader in charge of the DECnet
Phase IV AM.
Good luck!

345.8 | it's a bug | TOOK::S_KO | Hoot mon! | Tue Sep 25 1990 14:50 | 11 |
| it is a bug!
yes, it did work, but while correcting one aspect of the error
handling, we were a little too efficient and did not let the selected
errors to pass.
this affects setting the line speed of any line that does not already
have a value for line speed, or for obtaining characteristic
information for a line.
it is fixed for the next release. (it does work in V1)

| Any news on this bug (and THE FIX !) ?
I am using the latest IFT V1.1, and it is not relevant for me to fall
back to V1.0 because of this problem.
Thank's
