I just tracked down a problem to a side-effect of mcc_time_get_current:

It sets the mcc_l_id field of the descriptor to 0. The SRM documentation
of the routine doesn't mention this.

    Since the workaround was fairly trivial (depositing the id back in
    mcc_l_id), we declared this a "feature" for V1.0.  I'll fix it before
    V1.1 releases.
