| Check to make sure that the entities in the domain are registered.
If you or someone else deregisters one, the domain fm will not return it
or any members created after it.

292.2 | Please clarify? | NSSG::R_SPENCE | Nets don't fail me now... | Tue Sep 04 1990 10:49 | 9 |
| Jim, could you clarify that point? Are you saying that if nodes A-Z
are registered and included in a domain and then node G is
deregistered, nodes H-Z will not show up anymore?
I am confused by your statement.
thanks

292.3 | That is correct, It is being worked on. | TOOK::A_MOORE | | Wed Sep 05 1990 18:22 | 6 |
| Yes 292.2 description is correct.
Better solutions are being working on right now. Until then be careful with
deregistrations.

292.4 | Nodes were registered ! | KETJE::PACCO | | Mon Sep 24 1990 15:35 | 56 |

I am back with a litlle delay ....
I am SURE that the two nodes are registered correctly. The DNS
contents can be seen using the DIRECTORY command. Only these
two nodes are involved in the exercise !
MCC> dir node4 brscom
Node4 brscom
AT 24-SEP-1990 20:24:48
Directory successful.
Registered Name = DECTOWN:.DNA_NODE.BRSCOM
Address = 48.574
Name = BRSCOM
MCC> dir node4 brsopi
Node4 brsopi
AT 24-SEP-1990 20:25:08
Directory successful.
Registered Name = DECTOWN:.DNA_NODE.BRSOPI
Address = 48.92
Name = BRSOPI
DECTOWN:.dna_node.*
MCC> sho domain dectown member (node4 .dna_node.brscom)
Using default ALL IDENTIFIERS
Domain DECTOWN:.dectown Member Node4 DECTOWN:.dna_node.brscom
Identifiers
AT 24-SEP-1990 20:26:26
Examination of attributes shows
MemberName = Node4 DECTOWN:.dna_node.brscom
MCC> sho domain dectown member (node4 .dna_node.brsopi)
Using default ALL IDENTIFIERS
Domain DECTOWN:.dectown Member Node4 DECTOWN:.dna_node.brsopi
Identifiers
AT 24-SEP-1990 20:26:41
Examination of attributes shows
MemberName = Node4 DECTOWN:.dna_node.brsopi
Nevertheless, NODE4 entities still does not want to appear on a map.

292.5 | question? how was the map created | GOSTE::CALLANDER | | Wed Sep 26 1990 11:12 | 5 |
| Just a clarifying question (and maybe if I reread all the previous
notes I'd find the answer, but...)
How was the domain created? (using FCL, using MAP...)

| Hmm..
If I got this right, you can do
o a DIRECTORY of each member in the domain and verify that it
is registerd.
o a SHOW DOMAIN <domain-name> MEMBER * ALL IDENTIFIERS and get
the list of the global entities that belong to the domain, even
the NODE4 global entities.
but when you open the domain from the Iconic Map PM, all entities are
displayed except for the NODE4s.
Something bizzare is going on if this is the behavior. This is becaus
the Iconic Map PM does the exact same SHOW DOMAIN <domain-name> MEMBER *
command. Even if it doesn't find the corresponding map file entry it
will still display it.
I need to look at your environment to see what is going on. Give me a
call at 226-5329.
