I have a DECnet-Ultrix Phase V node register with my DECmcc (BMS V1.0
installed last Friday) I registered the Phase V node ok, and performed a few
show commands it with the following result on the 'All Char' command.
Is it that there is a mismatch in datatypes somewhere or a bad conversion
of a simple name?

(I still hate the wrap around error messages and think a human factors
user interface person needs to look at this and suggests fixes to these
UGLY dispalys.)
Note that this node is quiet functional from the transition tools point
of view, I can set host to it and look at it with NCL.

The reason that your getting the error wrapping is because the
FCL is unable to interpret what was returning, and unluckingly in
this case we didn't display the return before printing the error.
I will qar this against the FCL. In normal output though you should
see in the EFT update kit that you are running, the FCL now does
word wrap on output of messages/data tht is too long. We just didn't
extend it to include resetting our output pointer before internal
decoding errors.
I will pass the rest of your question along. Thanks for pointing
out the FCL problem though. (QAR #1107 in MCC_DEV database).

This appears to be a DECnet/ULTRIX problem. As a value for the
attribute LISTENER TEMPLATE, a simplename, MCC receives a string of 255
null (zero) bytes. Below is a DECmcc session log, with CMIP message tracing
turned on, for an ULTRIX system, dbx, and an OSI Router, lktnr2. The router
passes back a null simplename.

This is indeed a DECnet-ULTRIX problem, thanks for letting us know,
I'll forward this to the appropriate developer...
