229.0. "T1.0.1 Memory Leaks" by RACER::DAVE (Dave Lyons - Networks DCC - 226-5934 - LKG2-1/S4) Thu Aug 02 1990 20:14

    After doing a number of REGISTER NODE4 commands, it appears that
    there are still a few memory leaks.

    Out of 120 register ccommands, about 80 failed for various reasons,
    	and in that time, the MCC process grew by about 400 pages.

    I am running MCC V T1.0.1

229.1My success rate hasn't been good either... butDSTEG2::HUGHESFri Aug 03 1990 10:1116

    	The success rate of register node4 commands should improve. I am
    doing system level testing in a testbed with 57 entities. The testbed
    is on a privte network with one namespace and 5 servers. I'm really
    giving MCC and DNS 'a run for the money' as the default server always
    has to contact another server to complete a register operation. My
    testing has revealed several timing problems and a few other problems.
    I did not have a good success rate either, have patients, MCC
    development is working very hard to resolve these problems.

    	I am not looking at the testing with performance in mind, just
    testing the functionality. If anybody wants to help me look at the
    performance... I'm game!

229.2will look into it...TOOK::JESURAJMon Aug 06 1990 13:098
    I have found some parts of code where there are leaks. They will be
    fixed soon.  Hang in there...

229.3Idea of the Scale.....NSSG::DAVEDave Lyons - Networks DCC - 226-5934 - LKG2-1/S4Mon Aug 06 1990 14:127
To give you an idea of the size of the leak...

I registered 300 nodes successfuly, and 400 nodes with errors.
(700 nodes, total)

This used 30,000 pages of page file.
