| There are some known bugs in the phasev access module which break the iconic
map. For example, you would not be able to "look into" a node because the
am doesn't handle wildcarding correctly (e.g., SHOW NODE xyz LINE *).
If you wish to experiment with it you can copy the file
SYS$COMMON:[MCC]:MCC_NODE4_ICON.DAT to SYS$COMMON:[MCC]MCC_NODE_ICON.DAT
The toolkit will now contain the NODE icon (which clearly will look the same
as the NODE4 icon because it was copied).
Please do not post any QARs when dealing with the phaseV NODE entity from the
iconic map. We know there are problems and are currently working them out.

Icons have been provided on the kit for all supported entities. Phase V and
SNMP are currently no supported entities as far as the V1.1 components,
Domain and Iconic Map are concerned These entities are supported by FCL but
are not yet supported for the Iconic Map and Domain. The message
"No input bitmaps found for Node"
indicated that the DECmcc V1.0 UT1.0.1 dictionary contains the Node entity
for Phase V but that no icon was found for this class. When DECmcc is
brought up with the Iconic Map PM, we go to the dictionary to find out what
entities are there, and then look for icons for those entities. The "No
input bitmaps found for xxx" is an informational message only.
In a subsequent field test release we will be supporting SNMP and Phase V.
The problem at this time is a matter of testing and dependencies. As Jim
pointed out, there is a V1.0 restriction for Phase V in not supporting
wildcarded SHOW for all subentity levels. Since the Iconic Map requires
this, this will be addressed as a V1.1 dependency for Phase V. With SNMP,
more testing is necessary.
As far as new entities are concerned, we are supporting that now. If you
are adding a new AM or FM to the system and want to use it from the Iconic
Map, you must (1) meet the service requirements as used by the Iconic Map
and Domain (REGISTER, wildcard SHOW for all subentities, ...) and (2) add
a global entity icon for your entity. I will be adding a note shortly
explaining these requirements in more detail.
